Power creep sucks.
Anyways, warriors are far from useless. Finding a guild who runs balanced/physicalway is probably hard, but it's what you have to do if you want to get into groups.

Its true that Wars arent used in any meta builds really (team and farming wise). Warriors are my favorite class. I dont play in groups much, but running godmode with heroes discord spam is great.

We pugged a warrior 'Tank' (He ran Defy etc.) for our alliance Urgoz team in HM. Was nothing in the lines of a speed clear (~1.30h if you wonder) but he sure had his use now and then ... less as damage dealer but hey, we had great fun.
And non-high-performance guilds sure helps a lot playing the profession you like. Other than that ... good luck.

Warriors are not totally in the dumps. Many are still used for tanking in PvE and can be seen in PvP. Assassins are used mainly for UW/FoW farming, speed clears, boss-farming or just running people to places. They do not play that big a role in a PvE party (as in missions, quests, etc) compared to that of a warrior. If an assassin is attacked in PvE, most of the time they're dead, however warriors have an easier time surviving, therefore being used as a meat-shield or spiker. Assassins most likely win in farming and are probably one of the best farming professions. If you are looking for ways to farm with your warrior, just go to pvx.wikia.com

You can still do elemental farm in old ascalon. I think warriors are far from useless. There is a 4-man FOWHM clear build with ES warrior (check pvx wiki for exact build- it should be there). Some guilds still do this runs once a while. And of course Deep recall warrior which are still being used. I am playing all professions but still spent most time on war. I think it is the most fun to be in the front line of battle and call targets. If you have 100blades build you will see as many yellow numbers popping on the screen as if playing ele nuker. I would not comment on war usage in pvp but in AB and RA you still see them a lot.

QFT. Every time I am in a Pug with a sin he needs to be ressed at almost every mob. Have not seen it for a warrior...

Yes, this is absolutley true, back when there was only Proph. warriors had a place. My main character also is a warrior and all im left with is farming by myself and helping the occasional guild mate out. With factions and the bastard child it gave birth to (assassin) we have no place. Im going as far to say that anet made the worst mistake of the gaming industry replacing the warrior with the assasin.
I refuse to make another class out of the sheer ignorance ANET has for admitting they have been doing more wrong than right to this game since Prophecies.
Im pretty sure this boils down to ANET rapidly becomming another Funcom-Caster-loving company. Its a shame, I used to love this game.

Warriors have traditionally been tanks in PUGs, rather than physical damage dealers. With the advent of Terra Tanks, Permaform Sins, and other shenanigans, PUGs stay away from Warriors because as physical damage dealers, skill is required. Bringing a Cry of Pain nuker, RoJ Smiter, or anything else is more appealing in terms of damage.
Any decent guild will appreciate you as a Warrior far more than any PUG. There are few non-physical methods to apply Deep Wound, and in PvE, most of those aren't worth it anyways. With the SoH buff in PvE, Warriors can do even more damage, and are far superior at pressuring than most everything else.

I'd say the problem actually has little to nothing to do with warriors. In fact, warriors are probably one of the most well balanced professions currently in the game. The real issue (and the reason you're usually SoL pugging with a warrior) is that several other classes are quite UNBALANCED at the moment. Necros with their soul repaing, Sins with Perma Shadow form, mesmers with echo-chained CoP and even Monks with echoed RoJ are all way over-powered. It was the same in the ursan days, when warriors were in high demand because of their higher armor. Whenever their are over-powered skills/capabilities the player base will abuse them to no end (and then QQ a river when something gets nerfed). Until Anet and the live team decide to actually do something to make the game experience well balanced, there will always be classes that are excluded from the "fun".
PS..if you think warriors are currently useless, try playing a rit or a non-imbagon Paragon. See how many pugs will take you then!

I say you find a guild that hates the new metas with a passion and join them on balanced team builds
Oh and my opinon on if Anet makes a worthwhile buff for warriors alot of people will complain, but half of them wont say one word about perma sin and the such.

Best bet is play the 2nd class. You know everyone is starting using cookie cutter tricks. You know the warrior in PvE will be outgame for good. Duo their low energy. Because of that it has limited resources. And since the Ursan has been nerfed to common IQ type of summon. You will never expect to raise them again. Common nature from people.

When i started the game 3 years ago i made a war.
Then (back in those days) wars owned, but now sins.
Sins are taking over PvE and PvP.
Anet must do something about it.

Don't be too convinced warriors are inferior to everything. You can make a build that will both protect your team while boosting their offense at the same time and decently well. I'll let you find out how to do that yourself . You can be useful in PvP as well. It just depends on what arena you're going to and what kind of enemies you expect. Sins are popular choices, yes, but really they just broaden the opposition line so you will have to deal with more threats than before. That doesn't mean it will make a warrior inferior. It means the builds we make won't be effective against as many characters as they could have before. For example, you have a build that will destroy a sin, but you can't do much against a caster. Like I said, it all depends on the areas you fight in and the enemies.

Warriors are...not as good as Sins when it comes to frontliner/farmer extraordinaire role...
They had their moment of glory prior to the SF buff...OF tank in DoA & Slavers, running most areas and what not...but then Anet buffed PvE skills like Asuran Scan & at the same time, buffed Shadow Form...from then on, Warriors are great only for PvP. In PvE, they are inferior to Sins in almost all aspects.

Whoa. Whoa. Slow down there.
Honestly I'd much rather have a warrior than a sin in my group, with the exception of speedclears and some dungeons xD
Warriors just do not get the love the deserve because they are constantly being compared to sins and SF.
Now for a second lets throw out the fact Sins have sf.
Warriors can deal a consistent amount of DPS that beats Sins. Sins have better spike ability no doubt there but for constant damage Wars got em beat.
Warriors can survivor alot more from attacks and damage with their 80 Al and other insignias and runes.
[With the exception of SF] Warriors have a far larger arsenal of solo farms under their belts.
Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges [love that expression]
Back to Point
Unfortunately you picked a class which only beats stuff up. There really isn't any diversity to warriors other than builds to kill stuff quicker.
In PvE, Sins got you beat [atm] no going around that. permasins are the hot-thing but once SF gets nerfed warriors will make a comeback.
pvp I think is where warriors really shine.
They can provide a consistent amount of frontline DPS that pushes the other chars back.
